The course will be on the specification, estimation, and interpretation of Generalized Additive Models with R.


Robert Andersen holds the Senator William McMaster Chair in Political Sociology at McMaster University. A former Senior Research Fellow at Nuffield College Oxford, he will be a Visiting Professor of Sociology at Yale University starting in 2007. He teaches research methods courses at the ICPSR Summer School at the University of Michigan, the York University Summer School in Research Methods, and the ESRC Oxford Spring School in Quantitative Methods. His teaching and research interests are in applied statistics, survey methods, electoral behavior, social stratification and the sociology of work.
